Though the author's views are nicely expressed, one should not be deceived by the beauty of his words and then cannot reach the truth. One had better use the hermeneutic principles of understanding the Qur'an and the Sunnah and refer to the main source to satisty one's thirst. According to Shabistar's interpretation, faith is viewed as a religious experience and in reviving religion, it is regarded as reviving an experience. Using an analytical approach and documentary evidence, the author compares the items in the author's speech, one by one with the Qur'anic verses. The roots of faith, the appurtenance of faith, the attributes of the faithful and requirements of faith are all taken from the Qur'an. In conclusion, the suppositions of the author are contrasted with the Qur'anic ideas and put at the disposal of the reader to judge. کتاب «ایمان و آزادی» مجتهد شبستری قرائتی دگر از ایمان در کتاب هدایت دارد. سخنان نویسنده هرچند شیرین است، اما نباید حلاوت کلام، فریبی شود تا از حقیقت آن باز بمانیم. بهتر است با همان مبانی هرمنوتیکی فهم کتاب و سنت، به منبع رجوع کرد و آب را از سرچشمه نوشید. ایمان در قرائت شبستری به تجربه دینی تفسیر می شود و در احیای دین به احیای تجربه دینی بسنده می شود. این مقاله با رویکرد تحلیلی و اسنادی، بند بند کلام را به آیه آیه کتاب عرضه کرده است. ریشه ایمان و متعلقات آن، صفات ایمان مؤمنان و نیز لوازم ایمان از قرآن گرفته شده است. و در نهایت، مدعیات با ادعاهای قرآن در کنار هم آمده و قضاوت به خواننده گان سپرده شده است.
