abstract = {One of the most controversial philosophical and theological issue is the relationship between reason and religion that has a long history. The importance of this issue has made it one of the most important topics in the philosophy of contemporary religion. The question is whether revelation is sufficient to know religion or is it necessary to apply reason? Some thinkers believe that recognizing and accepting religion and faith is impossible without reason, but others see rationalism as endangering religion and faith, which can lead to eclecticism in religion. This paper studies the perspective of Mirza Mahdi Isfahani in this regard, which belongs to the latter category. Although he has presented logical arguments to prove God, he believes that it is impossible to know the existence and attributes of God with the intellect and the dark (material) human sciences. Hence, this makes man in need of unseen guidance and the existence of a revelatory religion. This idea has "circularity in argument or proof" problem because proving the authenticity and infallibility of the words of God, the Prophet and the Imam requires intellect. },

abstract_fa ={ارتباط عقل و دین یکی از بحث انگیزترین مسائل فلسفی و کلامی است و قدمتی طولانی دارد. اهمیت این مسئله، آن را به یکی از موضوعات مهم فلسفه‌ی دین معاصر تبدیل کرده است. سؤال این است که آیا برای شناخت دین، استفاده از وحی کفایت می کند یا به کارگیری عقل نیز ضرورت دارد؟ برخی پذیرش و شناخت دین، تدین و ایمان را بدون توجه به عقل، غیرممکن می دانند؛ اما گروهی دیگر، عقل گرایی را موجب به خطر افتادن تدین و ایمان، و التقاط در دین معرفی می کنند. این نوشتار به روش تحلیلی ـ  توصیفی به بررسی دیدگاه میرزامهدی اصفهانی در این زمینه می پردازد که جزو دسته‌ی اخیر است. هرچند ایشان استدلال هایی با صورت منطقی برای اثبات خداوند ارائه نموده است، اما شناخت وجود و اوصاف خداوند با عقل و علوم ظلمانی بشر را غیرممکن می داند. همین امر بشر را نیازمند راهنمای غیبی می کند و وجود دین وحیانی را ضرورت می بخشد. این اندیشه مبتلا به مشکل دور در استدلال بوده و اثبات حجیت و عصمت کلام خداوند، نبی و امام، محتاج عقل است.},
