His second view summarizes the following four claims: 1. All known conflicts between science and religion are either unreal or superficial. 2. There is a broad agreement between science and religion. 3. All known agreements between science and naturalism are superficial. 4. There is a deep conflict between science and naturalism. It is claimed that there is a conflict in terms of classical evolution and physics, but their conflict with religion is not real. In evolutionary psychology and critique of the bible, science and religion are in a superficial conflict, and science cannot contradict it because its evidence is different from that of religion. Theories of "fine tuning" and "intelligent design" are parts of science that can lay the groundwork for religious belief. Also, the harmonious acceptance of evolution and naturalism leads to the invalidation of knowledge of them. Therefore, science and naturalism are in deep conflict آلوین پلانتینگا درباره رابطه علم و دین، از اوایل قرن بیست ویکم دیدگاهی متفاوت نسبت به دیدگاه قبلی خود ارائه کرده است. خلاصه دیدگاه دوم او چهار ادعای ذیل است: 1. همه تعارضات معروف میان علم و دین یا غیرواقعی هستند یا سطحی. 2. توافق عمیقی میان علم و دین وجود دارد. 3. همه توافقات معروف میان علم و طبیعت گرایی سطحی است. 4. تعارض عمیقی میان علم و طبیعت گرایی وجود دارد. درخصوص تکامل و فیزیک کلاسیک ادعای تعارض می شود، ولی تعارض آنها با دین واقعی نیست. در روان شناسی تکاملی و نقد کتاب مقدس، علم و دین تعارض دارند، ولی این تعارض سطحی است و علم به علت آنکه شواهد مبنا و متفاوت از دین دارد، نمی تواند ناقض آن باشد. نظریه «تنظیم دقیق» و «طراحی هوشمند» بخش هایی از علم هستند که می توانند برای باور دینی زمینه سازی کنند. همچنین پذیرش هماهنگ تکامل و طبیعت گرایی موجب بی اعتباری معرفت به آنها می شود و از این رو علم و طبیعت گرایی تعارض عمیقی دارند. https://kalami.nashriyat.ir/sites/kalami.nashriyat.ir/files/article-files/6_18.pdf
