Ma`rifat Kalami

The perception of union and oneness with existence is one of the cognitions of near-death experiences that can be considered and scrutinized both in anthropological theology and in ontology. Furthermore, the feeling of returning to the primordial home and the idea of reversion contained within these experiences imply truths about the possible existence of realms prior to the physical creation of humans in the material world. Both of these components have been alluded to, in a general manner, within religious texts. However, their detailed interpretation and exegesis must be sought in the views of thinkers and commentators of religious propositions. In this inquiry, using a descriptive-analytical method, the verisimilitude of the two aforementioned components has been investigated according to the views of Allamah Tabatabai. The results of this research indicate that, according to Allamah Tabatabai's opinion, the perception of oneness with existence—after the veil of the material world is lifted—can be understood within the framework of certain verses and narratives based on human dignity and centrality in the order of the universe. Additionally, his views on the realms before creation were discussed in the two domains of the world of pre-existence and the descending intermediate realm. In summary, Allamah's opinions affirm the existence of the descending intermediate realm as a world in which humans, prior to entering the material world, had a subtle body and a mode of life.
