The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) has experienced one of the highest growth rates in Latin America over the past half-century—a region that was predominantly Catholic until the mid-twentieth century and has been influenced by Evangelical and Pentecostal movements in recent decades. This religious transformation, along with the transfer of Mormon theology from its North American context to Latin American societies, has raised fundamental questions about the doctrinal nature, the status of contemporary prophethood, and the institutional structure of this religious tradition within its new cultural setting. The aim of the present study is a systematic analysis of Mormon theology in Latin America and an examination of its indigenization or adaptation to the specific social and religious context of the region. The research methodology is based on a combination of theological-sociological analysis, critical study of primary Mormon sources (Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Últimos Días), and a systematic review of scholarly research on Mormonism and the phenomenology of religion in Latin America. The results show that while maintaining its primary doctrinal frameworks, Mormonism has dynamically adapted to Latin culture at the levels of religious interpretation, religious practice, and organizational structure, with a form of "Latin Mormon theology" emerging that represents a new manifestation of the connection between theology, living prophecy, and the social structure of the church.
