Advances in artificial intelligence and the discourse of the “technological singularity” have raised questions about God, humanity, and religion. Some thinkers claim that superintelligent AI will attain “divine” abilities such as creating life, omniscience, and omnipotence. Using a descriptive‑analytical method and an Islamic theological approach, this paper examines four theistic challenges concerning: (1) God’s power, (2) the exclusivity of divine creativity, (3) divine lordship (tawḥīd al-rubūbiyyah), and (4) divine worship (tawḥīd al-ʿibādah), including the worship of AI and the possibility of religious experience for machines. The findings show that these claims rest on confusing “engineering” with “creation ex nihilo”, confusing “instrument” with “ultimate source of power”, and neglecting God’s essential attributes. Theologically, AI lacks spirit (rūḥ), innate disposition (fiṭrah), and free will; therefore it cannot attain an “I‑Thou” relationship with God or authentic religious experience. The “digital god” is nothing but a modern idol, a repetition of ancient polytheism. Ultimately, the singularity hypothesis does not contradict Islamic monotheism; the real challenge lies in a misguided understanding of theological concepts.
