Abstract:
According to Soroush's point of view, revelation is a kind of dreams, and as a result, it is one of the lowest levels of religious experiences. In fact, revelation dream is the product of Prophet Mohammad’s mind and his creative and discovering conscience, and he plays an active role and is a discoverer in the process of revelation. Therefore, Prophet Mohammad does not obey God, but obeys his own discovery. As a result, the only author of the Qur'an is Prophet Muhammad and his dream. Soroush believes the idea of "revelation dream" has a historical background and believes that some great Islamic thinkers are the innovator of this theory. Mentioning some expressions of the people of knowledge or the gnostic (Ahl al-Marifat), he believes they consider a central role for the Prophet in the process of revelation and an agent role in the production and formation of the Qur'an. This article criticizes Soroush's view of “revelation dream”, using a "descriptive-analytical" method, and shows Soroush's incorrect interpretations and obvious fallacies in his interpretation of the books of the people of knowledge, and examines the mentioned passages. Contrary to Soroush's views, the people of knowledge believe, not only the meanings, but also the letters, words, combinations of words, the order of the verses and everything called "Qur'an" are revealed by God, and is not the product of Prophet's soul, and they clearly believe revelation is descended by God when Prophet was awake.
