Abstract:
Dr. Shariati, one of the prominent figures of the religious neo-thought trend with a sociological approach, considered Islam as a religion with many social functions; However, he saw its effectiveness as dependent on the reviewing of religious texts. In this context, he revised the religious principles of Islam. Using the analytical-descriptive method and with a critical approach, this article aims to examine the principle of "resurrection" and the end of man from his point of view. This research has shown that he has explained the propositions related to resurrection by using practical and modern rationality. On this basis, he often presents worldly interpretations of resurrection. He has argued for the proof of resurrection through divine justice and explaining the general rule of "action and reaction". Shariati considers immortality as one of the greatest human talents. According to him, the world, livelihood and economy are the main thing and the hereafter is dependent on material things. According to him, the verses referring to the resurrection and the afterlife are not realistic, but symbolic.
